Alec Baldwin shared that he suffers from physical and mental health problems since the *Rust *tragedy that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in 2021.

The *30 Rock *actor said the ordeal "broke every nerve in my body, spiritually, financially, work-wise, career" during an appearance on the *Dopey *podcast.

"If I told you what my health conditions have been since October 21st of 2021 — it's taken 10 years off of my life," Baldwin said.

Baldwin didn't get into many details about his health, but he did say that at one point, he "couldn't even move" and that "there was a time when I took a nap every day for a year."

Hutchins was killed on set of the western after Baldwin discharged a prop gun with live rounds. The actor was charged with involuntary manslaughter in January 2023, but the charges were dropped months later. He was charged again in January 2024, but a judge dismissed that case with prejudice in July 2024, meaning it cannot be refiled.

The *Beetlejuice *star has previously discussed the mental health struggles he has faced following the incident. Baldwin opened up about having post-traumatic stress disorder in an episode of his reality show *The Baldwins*, which premiered in February but took place ahead of the actor's 2024 trial.

"I don't know where I'd be if I didn't have you and these kids going through this," he said to his wife Hilaria Baldwin in the Feb. 23 episode.

Hilaria revealed that her husband had been experiencing suicidal ideation during another episode of *The Baldwins.*

*"*He has survivor's guilt. You're involved in this thing that not anyone could even possibly imagine, so it goes back to that day. He wishes it were him," she said in a March 2 episode.

The *Working Girl* actor elaborated on this experience on the *Dopey *podcast, saying he'd lie in bed and struggle to continue forward.

"It's really kind of unappealing to me because to talk about killing yourself and to actually kill yourself are two so profoundly distinctive things," Baldwin said. "I think a lot of people, I think countless people think about killing themselves and ending their life. And then very few do."

*Rust *was released in theaters in May. The film paid tribute to Hutchins with a dedication in a title card.
